Expansion works of Komárom municipal wastewater treatment plan took place between December 2019 an June 2021, during which Inwatech Kft. was contracted to perfom the following tasks:

• authorization and detailed design works
• all construction works within the site grounds
• commissioning and trial operation

As a result of the investment, the hydraulic capacity increased from 4,500m3/day to 8,000 m3/day and the biological capacity to 57,067 PE. During the trial period, the quality of the treated wastewater was shown to meet the requirements for all limit values.

Wastewater treatment technology at Komárom WWTP consists of:

• mechanical pre-treatment and rainwater buffering
• continuous (A2O technology) biological reactors (2 new combined basins including the post-clarifiers)
• tertiary cleaning stage, membrane ultra-filitration system
• gravity sludge thickening and dewatering line (centrifuge)
• odor treatment
